A very fine and unusual 19th Century pine step ladder or library steps, of exceptional quality, fabulously hand carved and finely figured with gorgeously rich patination and grain. The elegant A frame foldable ladder / library steps features six graduated steps to one side including a wider and deeper step to the top and is connected to the opposing support with a cast iron folding bracket mechanism, metal label 'Simplex Ladder'.
