A fabulous 19th Century finely hand carved giltwood overmantle mirror of exceptional quality and large proportions. The mirror glass plate of arch top form is set within a stunning moulded, fluted and pierced giltwood frame with lozenge and diamond detail throughout. Surmounted with an elegantly ornate, centred crest composition comprising of foliate and c-scrolls flanked with trailing bellhusk motif detail, beautifully hand carved high relief. Supported on shaped platform base with a further gorgeous arrangement of scrolling foliate to each side, terminating on porcelain spheres. London label verso 'A.
