A fine 19th Century satinwood fall front bureau bookcase, finely hand carved, line inlaid throughout and with fabulously rich patination and grain. The upper section with a stepped and moulded cavetto pediment with beautiful applied flowerhead paterae motif detail, raised above twin astragal glazed panel doors with brass escutcheon and key, opening to a shelved interior. The lower fall front section with a gorgeous inlaid oval pattern to the central reserve, which opens forwards revealing a writing surface inset with fitted green leather writing skiver surface, which rests on two pull out slide supports and a fitted interior comprising of an arrangement of eight line inlaid cubby holes and drawers flanking a central crossbanded cupboard. Raised above four long graduated drawers with fitted interiors and decorative brass swan neck handles and escutecheons, terminating on ogee bracket foot.
