A gorgeous 19th Century walnut slope front coal scuttle, finely hand carved, of fabulous quality and with finely cast brass mounts throughout. Surmounted with elegant faceted brass carrying handle framed with corner mounts, raised over slope front door flanked with elegant serpentine sides. The hinged lift-up door with brass pull and decorative strapwork, opens to reveal original liner in the storage compartment for coal and the original shovel is neatly stored to the side.
