A rare 19th Century 'National' cash register. The elegant ornate repoussee embossed body is nickel plated and embellished with designs, comprising of scrolls, acanthus leaves, foliate wreathes and flowerhead motifs. The number plaques at the top of the machine which correlate to the bright circular red and white keys are encased in glass. The front centre of the register lifts upwards to display the inner workings of the machine and is raised over a till drawer beneath which opens to reveal a fitted interior, supported on moulded mahogany plinth base.
