A rare pair of 20th Century animalier heavy cast iron sculptures depicting hunting dogs after H Alfred Jacquemart (1824-1896), the leading contributor to French animalier school of the 19th Century. The finely cast pair are of exceptional quality with stunning detail, beautiful expressions and are poised seated on their haunches with front dewclaws and docked tails. One hunting dog is depicted collarless with the collar laying on the ground beneath one of the forepaws, the other wears his collar around his neck and has a bird on the ground by his paws, supported on elliptical plinth base.
