A stunning 19th Century giltwood overmantle mirror of large proportions. The bevelled mirror glass plate is set within a beautifully hand carved, moulded and pierced giltwood frame with reeded detail and an intricate, elegant border of leaves with woven ribbon motif detail with further ribbon bow detail to the shaped top corner returns. Surmounted with a fabulously ornate, centred crest composition comprising of centred cartouche with cabochon, scroll, bead, ribbon and bell husk detail flanked with a gorgeous arrangement of trailing foliate, all finely carved in high relief, supported on shaped platform base.
