A very fine 19th century giltwood margin hallway or overmantle mirror. The mirror glass plate set within a stunningly hand carved and moulded giltwood frame with beaded border and five addtional mirror glass plates. Surmounted with a centred crest composition comprising of stylised shell and ruffles flanked with flowerheads, trailing foliate and c-scrolls, beautifully carved in high relief. The base with a further arrangement of flowerhead and scrolling foliate motif detail to the sides.
