A very fine 19th Century Irish mahogany stool of exceptional quality, finely hand carved with gorgeously rich patination and grain. The cushioned drop in seat of rectangular form is beautifully upholstered with an intricately embroidered tapestry panel depicting a gorgeous arrangement of flowers and foliate in hues of pinks, greens, blues and yellows against a coral ground. Raised over a moulded simple rail supported on elegant tapering cabriole legs with shell motif on knee and scroll, trailing bell husk and gadroon detail, terminating on ball and claw foot, finely carved in high relief.
