A very fine 19th Century giltwood hall or overmantel mirror of grand proportions and of exceptional quality. The bevelled mirror glass plate of rectangular form is set within a stunningly hand carved moulded, fluted and reeded giltwood frame with shaped corner returns and decorated profusely with gorgeous bands of elegant beaded row detailing, applied flowerhead paterae, egg and dart motifs throughout. Surmounted with a fabulous pierced central crest composition featuring a tied ribbon bow set within an exquisite foliate, berry and flowerhead wreath flanked with beautiful arrangements of richly trailing foliate, all intricately carved in high relief.
