A very fine 19th Century pair of well figured mahogany hall chairs of exceptional quality, stunningly hand carved with rich patination and grain. The shaped and moulded crest rail with gorgeous scroll detail is raised over a panelled and pierced shield back with beautiful motif details comprising of a striking arrangement of centred cabochon encircled with fluted border, scrolls and fans with stippling detailing to the central reserve, flanked with richly scrolling foliate to the sides. The moulded and shaped serpentine fronted seat with roundel corners is raised above a fluted apron and supported on outswept sabre legs to the rear and elegantly, tapering cabriole legs to the fore with foliate and scroll motif detail on knee, terminating on a fabulous paw foot.
