A very rare and fine 19th Century giltwood overmantle mirror of grand proportions and exceptional quality. The mirror glass plate of rectangular form with an arched top is set within a fabulously hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame with an intricate and elegant rope twist border with ribbon, beading, flowerhead and scrolling foliate motif detail. Supported on shaped platform giltwood and ebonised base with a stunning arrangement of foliate and flowerhead detail to the sides.
