A very rare and unusual pair of 19th Century hand painted and gilded torcheres in original condition, finely hand carved and adorned with gorgeous motifs throughout. The moulded top of circular form with foliate detail raised over ring turned, elegant baluster stem wrapped with beautifully carved acanthus leaves. The splayed triangular base with a further arrangement of acanthus leaves, carved in high relief, flanking the reeded side panels with cartouche, ribbon, guilloche and applied flower head paterae detail, all carved in bas-relief, terminating on paw foot.
