A stunning 19th Century fully restored giltwood overmantel mirror. The mirror glass plate of archtop form is set within a finely hand carved moulded, fluted and elegantly simple giltwood frame. Surmounted with a beautifully ornate, pierced centred crest composition comprising of an arrangement of a centred flowerhead flanked with richly scrolling foliate and leaves, finely hand carved in high relief. Supported on a shaped platform base with ebonised sphere detail and featuring a further gorgeous arrangement of scrolling acanthus leaves to the sides.
