A very fine and unusual early 20th Century well figured birdseye maple framed cheval mirror of exceptional quality, beautifully carved, line inlaid and ormolu mounted throughout with gorgeously rich patination and grain. The bevelled and shaped mirror glass plate is set within a finely carved, moulded birdseye maple frame which is stunningly inlaid throughout with richly scrolling foliate and flanked with stylised Corinthian column side supports fitted with well cast ormolu mounts featuring foliate, gadroon and beaded row motif detail. Supported on an inlaid ormolu mounted inverted breakfront platform base with fabulous scrolling foliate, applied flowerhead paterae and lambs tongue detail.
